Your Privacy on the Initiative’s Web Site

We want this site to be a safe and private place for users. The South Carolina Emergency Contraception Initiative will do its part by collecting very little information from you and about you. The Initiative site logs IP addresses for systems administration purposes and these logs may be analyzed to improve the value of the materials available on the site. But we do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. This means that a user's session will be logged, but the user will be anonymous.

We ask that you do your part too. When you write to us or send a submission to publish on the site, do not tell us your name, the name of other users, or of your friends. Keep out all personal information that could be used to identify you or your friends or others. Registration, polling, e-mail or chat data, along with our tabulations of where our users are visiting the most, will be compiled into statistics to inform us about your needs and interests. We also may share this statistical information with writers, Web site writers, media and outside experts, to help us improve the site to meet the needs and interests of our users.

The South Carolina Emergency Contraception Initiative maintains mailing lists to keep individuals and organizations informed about the work of this organization. Individuals may be included in these lists by submitting information through our Web site. This information may be shared with like-minded organizations.

Submission of Materials by Users

When you submit a question, article or other materials to the Initiative through the Web site, you are authorizing the Initiative to read it, edit it and publish it on the Web site, where it can be read all over the world and downloaded and copied. Do not submit anything if you do not want your question, article, or materials posted and read by others. Before posting any question, work or material to the Web site, the Initiative will edit it to make the content clear and to protect your anonymity. Make sure before you submit anything to the Initiative that you have removed any personal information that could be used to identify you or others mentioned in your submission. The Initiative is not obligated to and makes no representation that it will publish any particular submission. All material you submit must be original work. Once a submission is published on the Web site, the Initiative may take it down for any or no reason.
